Dr. Uday Bhan Singh, a member of the SER and a leading radiologist in Varanasi, in collaboration with the Radiology Department of IMS, Banaras Hindu University, successfully conducted the CME under the aegis of the SER. The attendance was unparalleled at a strength of nearly 250 and the sessions were unusually interactive with a Q&A after each talk that was almost half as long as the lecture itself! The scientific program was carefully planned to cover some important topics of interest in the field of Emergency and Trauma Radiology. National experts in the field deliberated on various topics ranging from the diagnostic algorithms in stroke diagnosis and management to the recent developments in diagnosis and approach to deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary thromboembolism. There were comprehensive sessions on orbital, facial and spinal trauma, and pearls and pitfalls of imaging of adnexal torsion in addition to many other topics were discussed. Sessions on artificial intelligence and its role in emergency radiology and medicolegal aspects of medical practice were also very well received by the enthusiastic audience.
It was truly a fantastic experience for faculty and delegates in terms of excellent academic content, a very warm hospitality, and delicious food including many traditional dishes that both local and visiting faculty and attendees found hard to resist!
Embracing cutting edge technologies has been the vision of the SER. In keeping with this, our next meeting will be a focused session on recent technologies, teleradiology and artificial intelligence relevant to emergency radiology. This will be held in August in Bangalore, hosted by Dr. Arjun Kalyanpur, a founder member of the SER, and CEO of Teleradiology Solutions.
